Job summary

Cardinal is seeking an experienced Controller to oversee financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, compliance, and accounting operations across multiple companies. Reporting to the Director of Finance, you will play a key role in providing financial insights, managing risk, supporting strategic decision-making, and leading a high-performing accounting team. Location: This is an in-person role at Cardinal Couriers Ltd. head office, 6600 Goreway Drive, Mississauga, ON. What You'll Do Lead the preparation of financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections. Oversee month-end and year-end close processes, audits, tax reporting, and regulatory compliance. Analyze financial performance, identify risks and opportunities, and provide actionable recommendations to management. Monitor banking relationships, covenant reporting, and key performance metrics. Strengthen internal controls and continuously improve accounting systems and processes. Mentor and develop accounting staff while supporting organizational growth. What You'll Bring CPA designation and a bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration. Minimum 10 years of progressive accounting and financial management experience. Strong expertise in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and compliance. Experience leading and developing accounting teams. Proficiency with ERP systems, including Great Plains and/or Microsoft Business Central. Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills. Transportation industry experience and bilingualism (English/French) are assets. Why Join Us?
