Position Details Position Status: Temporary Part Time Term Ends January 25, 2027 Location: Dr. Vernon Fanning Centre, Neuro Rehab BW Hours: 56.83 FTE: 0.73 Shift: Days/Evenings Shift Times: 0700-1515/1500-2315 Union: AUPE Aux Nursing Rate of Pay: $20.77 - $26.02 PCN: 26NANRB06 Date Competition Closes: September 28, 2026 Position Summary: Reporting directly to the Director of Care, the Health Care Aide (HCA) is a regulated member of the interprofessional health care team who provides ongoing client care. The HCA observes, monitors and reports on client status/condition including changes in physical and emotional status. The HCA ensures that changes in client status are reported to the Registered Nurse (RN) and/or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). This position delivers prescribed medications accurately as per policy and procedure. In keeping with Carewest’s Frame of Reference, Philosophy of Care and Carewest policies this position maintains professional and ethical standards at all times. Responsible for other related duties as required. Program Summary: Neuro Rehabilitation Program – for adults who have had a neurological injury, such as a stroke, and require additional assessment, recuperation and rehabilitation before returning to the community. Qualifications and Experience: - High School Diploma or equivalent is required, plus graduation from an Alberta Government recognized Health Care Aide program. - Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English is required. - Must be physically capable of managing the frequent lifting, transferring and repositioning of clients. - Active and current registration with CLHA required. - Related experience in a health care facility is an asset. - Program specific training/experience is an asset. \n \n

Requirements

Candidates must hold a High School Diploma and have graduated from an Alberta Government recognized Health Care Aide program. Active registration with CLHA and the physical ability to perform client lifting and transferring are required.
