Headquartered in Toronto, Canada, Catch The Blitz collaborates with creators and contributors from various locations. Applicants can expect a dynamic, content-driven environment that values creativity, innovation, and passion for football. Role Description This is a remote contract role for a Social Media Podcast Clipper / Video Editor. In this position, you will review podcast and video recordings to identify engaging moments, then cut, refine, and package them into short-form clips optimized for social platforms such as TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, and Twitter. You will add captions, graphics, and basic motion elements to ensure clips are visually engaging and on brand, while maintaining clear audio and proper pacing. Day-to-day tasks include organizing raw footage, collaborating with content producers on clip selection, adapting content to different aspect ratios and formats, and delivering assets within tight turnaround times. You will also help maintain a consistent visual style across all edited content and contribute ideas for improving audience engagement through video storytelling. The ideal candidate is an NFL fan who understands both video editing and social media storytelling. You should be able to identify the best moments from a long-form podcast, build a compelling narrative around them, and edit each clip in a way that captures attention and keeps viewers watching. We're looking for someone who can answer "Would I stop scrolling for this?" before exporting a clip. You should have a strong instinct for what works on social media, understand why certain clips perform better than others, and be comfortable experimenting with different editing styles, hooks and formats. Most importantly, you should be someone who lives and breathes the NFL and social media. Bonus: Experience working with sports media, podcasts, creators or digital media brands is an asset. Responsibilities Watch and review podcast episodes to identify the most compelling, entertaining and shareable moments. Edit short-form clips for Instagram Reels, TikTok and YouTube Shorts. Create strong openings/hooks that immediately capture the viewer's attention. Use captions, graphics, B-roll, sound effects, zooms, cuts and visual effects to maintain audience engagement. Understand how to structure short-form content for retention, watch time and audience growth. Identify potential viral moments and turn them into engaging social content. Stay up to date with current NFL storylines, players, teams, trends and social media conversations. Work within the Catch The Blitz brand and maintain a consistent visual style. Create supporting graphics and thumbnails when required. Collaborate with the podcast and social media team to develop new content ideas and formats. Qualifications Extensive knowledge of and genuine interest in the NFL. Strong understanding of social media best practices, particularly Instagram, TikTok and YouTube Shorts. Proven experience creating short-form video content. Strong storytelling instincts and an ability to turn raw footage into engaging content. Strong understanding of audience capture and retention — knowing how to hook viewers, create curiosity and keep them watching. Proficient in Adobe Premiere Pro. Proficient in Adobe Photoshop. Strong understanding of pacing, timing, visual storytelling and current social media editing trends. Strong attention to detail and ability to work efficiently on deadlines. Ability to recognize what makes a moment entertaining, informative, controversial or shareable. Strong video production and video editing skills, with experience cutting long-form podcasts into short-form social clips. Proficiency in video color grading to ensure consistent, high-quality visuals across platforms. Ability to create and integrate motion graphics and social media graphics aligned with brand guidelines. Experience using industry-standard editing tools (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve) and basic audio cleanup. Understanding of social media best practices, trends, and formats for sports or entertainment content. Excellent attention to detail, time management skills, and the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication skills and comfort working remotely with a distributed team. Previous experience editing sports, football, or podcast content is an asset.
