Catholic Social Services is currently recruiting for a contract, Settlement Support Worker in Red Deer that is fluent in Rohingya, Tigrinya or Kinyarwanda! This is a contract position with a contract end date of March 31, 2027. Job Summary: As a Settlement Support Worker working in our Immigration and Settlement Services team, you will work closely within a team to support a smooth transition into Canada for our newcomers. In consultation and with guidance from the Settlement Counsellors, you will provide interpretation services to clients in their own language. You will interpret for them in orientation sessions and at various appointments. You will also teach life skills and provide hands-on learning with the aim of assisting newcomers to master the skills necessary to live successfully in Canada. What This Job Requires: In addition to English, you are required to be fluent in the Rohingya, Tigrinya or Kinyarwanda languages Minimum Grade 12 education Minimum 6 months to 1 year experience working with newcomers and providing interpretation and translation services A vehicle and valid class 5 driver's license – requirement to transport clients in your personal vehicle Clear and Current Drivers Abstract Proof of Vehicle Insurance showing $2 million liability coverage Proof of Vehicle Registration for insured vehicle Vulnerable Sector Check from local RCMP or City Police Child Intervention Record Check What We Offer: The annual salary for this position begins at $43,513.60 and is based on qualifications and experience. Requirements
