Job Description Cavendish Farms is looking for a SEASONAL Potato Harvest Laborers to join the Farm Team for a period of around 3-4 weeks, up to 10-14 hours per day. Expected start date is Mid September. The exact start date and period of work will be dependent on weather and business needs. Work location: 1030 Greeno Rd, Chapman Settlement, NS. Bonus: a bonus of up to $2.5 per hour is available upon completion of the season. It is based on performance, attendance, and safety. Responsibilities Inspect potatoes on a conveyor belt or grading line, removing substandard products, dirt, and foreign objects like rocks. Effectively communicate with coworkers and management to ensure safety and the ability to plan work around harvest operations. Contribute to the team’s goals and provide feedback on how to better operations. Flexible schedule to accommodate harvest weather windows. All other duties as assigned. Qualifications Safety and Quality focused. Physically fit to stand for extended period of time. High level of attention to detail. Ability to work in close proximity to moving harvest equipment. Farm experience is an asset. Able to lift 50lbs regularly. Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions. Availability to work extended hours, evenings and weekends.
