We are currently looking for seasonal Geotechnical & Materials Technicians/ Technologists to join our dynamic team in our geotechnical and materials engineering New Brunswick and Nova Scotia offices located in Fredericton, NB, Moncton, NB and Bedford, NS. The successful candidates will demonstrate initiative and excel in fast-paced environments. You will work with a team of engineers and other technologists/technicians. Our geotechnical and materials division specializes in geotechnical and materials engineering consulting. This division of CBCL has grown to become a leading regional provider of these engineering services to the commercial, institutional, heavy industrial, transportation, municipal infrastructure, energy & utilities, and large residential sectors. Key Responsibilities: Perform quality assurance/quality control field testing and inspection of concrete, soil, and asphalt; Carry out field review of civil construction works; Carry out laboratory testing on soils, rock, concrete, and asphalt materials; Assist with geotechnical investigations – including the sampling of soil and rock from boreholes and test pits; and Interface with clients on laboratory and field test results. Your Capabilities and Credentials: A diploma in Civil Engineering Technology preferred; Recent Civil Engineering University graduates will be considered; No prior experience required however, any experience with QA/QC testing, building and heavy civil construction, and/or inspection services would be considered an asset; and Registration or eligibility for registration with TechNova or NBSCETT would be an asset. Preferred Skills: Excellent oral and written language skills; Strong analytical, project management and problem-solving skills; A high level of proficiency with Microsoft Office; Strong organizational and interpersonal skills; Ability to work independently and cooperate with a team in various environments; and; Hold a valid driver’s license and have reliable transportation to travel to job sites. Competitive hourly wage: $26.00-31.00, depending on experience. To meet pay transparency requirements, compensation ranges are included for roles in locations where required by law. The range listed for this position represents the expected hiring range; actual starting compensation will vary based on factors such as professional experience, technical expertise, credentials, and alignment with the role's requirements, as well as internal compensation structures and market data.
