CDN is a full-service provider with expertise in Electrical & Instrumentation maintenance, renewables/solar, major projects, combustion & emissions reduction, and measurement. * Role: Journeyperson Instrumentation Technician * Location: Fort McMurray * Duration: 3-4 months starting September 2026 * Shift: Various * Overtime: per project requirements * Pre-Employment Condition: Pre-employment D&A test required * Additional details: Camp accommodation provided. Travel assistance available within a six-hour drive of Fort McMurray. We are seeking experienced Journeyperson Instrumentation Technicians with strong commissioning, startup and troubleshooting experience. RESPONSIBILITIES: * Perform instrument pre-commissioning, commissioning, equipment checkout, and startup activities. * Complete instrument calibration, configuration, verification, loop checks, point-to-point checks, and functional testing. * Troubleshoot field instrumentation, wiring, communications, device configuration, and control system interface issues. * Utilize HART communicators, AMS Device Manager, and other instrumentation calibration and diagnostic tools as required. * Complete commissioning documentation including ITRs, check sheets, test records, deficiency/punch items, and turnover documentation. * Identify, document, and support resolution of deficiencies through commissioning and startup. * Complete redline markups and maintain accurate field documentation. * Coordinate directly with commissioning, operations, electrical, controls, engineering, and vendor teams. * Support vendor commissioning, equipment startup, system functional testing, and turnover activities. * Perform all work safely in accordance with company and site environmental, health, and safety requirements. JOB REQUIREMENTS: * Journeyperson Instrumentation Technician. * Strong industrial commissioning and startup experience in oil and gas, midstream, petrochemical, or similar process facilities. * Strong working knowledge of field instrumentation, HART devices, transmitters, control valves, and associated control interfaces. * Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, loop drawings, wiring diagrams, instrument datasheets, and commissioning documentation. * Experience with AMS Device Manager considered an asset. * Ability to work independently and effectively within a multi-discipline commissioning and startup team. * Valid Class 5 driver's licence with a clean driver abstract. * Valid H2S, First Aid, Fall Protection, Aerial Work Platform, CSO, and CSTS certifications. * Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions and at heights as required.
