Role Description The Red Seal Journeyperson Mobile Crane Operator role is a full-time, on-site position based in Kamloops, BC. The role involves operating mobile cranes to safely lift, move, and position loads at industrial construction sites, following all applicable regulations and company procedures. Day-to-day tasks include planning and executing lifting operations, conducting pre-operational checks, inspecting cranes and lifting equipment, and communicating effectively with rigging and ground crews. The operator is responsible for maintaining accurate lift records, adhering to safety standards, and supporting project productivity through efficient crane operation. This role also includes working closely with supervisors and project teams to coordinate lifts, respond to changing site conditions, and contribute to a positive, safety-focused work environment. Qualifications Demonstrated proficiency in lifting operations, including planning, executing, and monitoring safe load handling. Experience operating heavy equipment, specifically mobile cranes, in industrial or construction environments. Knowledge of lifting equipment, rigging practices, and load charts for various crane configurations. Ability to perform thorough inspections of cranes and associated lifting equipment to ensure safe and reliable operation. Valid Red Seal Journeyperson Mobile Crane Operator certification and any applicable provincial certifications for BC. Strong understanding of occupational health and safety regulations, with a commitment to safe work practices. Effective communication skills for coordinating with site supervisors, riggers, and other crew members. Ability to work outdoors in varying conditions and adapt to changing project requirements and schedules. Previous experience in industrial construction or crane services is an asset. Clean driving record and ability to travel to different job sites as required.
