Job summary

Personne qui assume la responsabilité d'un ensemble de soins cardiorespiratoires et de techniques d'inhalothérapie. Elle évalue la condition cardiorespiratoire de l'usager à des fins diagnostiques ou de suivi thérapeutique. Elle contribue à l’anesthésie et traite des problèmes qui affectent le système cardiorespiratoire. Elle participe à la recherche visant la promotion de la santé et la prévention de la maladie. Elle peut prescrire des médicaments selon la réglementation en vigueur. Elle s'assure du fonctionnement adéquat et optimal des équipements. Elle planifie, dispense et évalue l'enseignement aux usagers, à leurs proches et à des groupes de personnes. Elle peut participer à l'enseignement des soins cardiorespiratoires ainsi que des techniques d’inhalothérapie. Doit détenir un diplôme d’études collégiales (DEC) en techniques d’inhalothérapie d'une école reconnue par le ministère compétent. Doit être membre de l’Ordre professionnel des inhalothérapeutes du Québec. *********** Person who assumes responsibility for a range of cardiorespiratory care and respiratory therapy techniques. It assesses the cardiorespiratory condition of the user for diagnostic or therapeutic monitoring purposes. She contributes to anesthesia and treats problems that affect the cardiorespiratory system. She participates in research aimed at health promotion and disease prevention. She can prescribe medications according to the regulations in force She ensures the adequate and optimal functioning of the equipment. She plans, delivers and evaluates teaching to users, their loved ones and groups of people. She can participate in the teaching of cardiorespiratory care as well as respiratory therapy techniques. Must hold a college diploma (DEC) in respiratory therapy techniques from a school recognized by the competent ministry. Must be member of the Professional Order of Respiratory Therapists of Quebec.
