About

We, the Centre for Health and Society (chs), are an interdisciplinary research center comprised of institutes and research groups from the Faculty of Medicine at Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf (HHU) and the German Diabetes Center (DDZ). The chs stands for responsible and future-oriented research and teaching in all areas where societal factors influence human health. Through excellence in research and teaching, we produce internationally recognized scientific findings and provide targeted training for students and early-career researchers. Reducing the significant health inequalities is of particular importance to us. Interculturality and equal opportunities are of central importance. Our actions are based on the principles of tolerance, democracy, and social justice. Sustainability is a key component of our work, as we integrate climate- and environmentally conscious perspectives into our research and practice.
