About Us CHEK ABC is a Christian Home Education and On-Line school with students across BC. Our central office is located in beautiful Nelson. Position Overview We are looking for a passionate Educational Assistant to provide individualized support to two (2) students in their home-based learning environments. Rate per hour: $23 to $29 Preferred Qualifications & Experience Educational Assistant Certificate/Behaviour Intervention training is an asset but not required Experience supporting students who use Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) tools and strategies, as well as emotional regulation supports, is an asset but not required. Experience using TouchChat is considered an asset. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a home-based learning environment. Applicants must be able to reliably travel to and work at the students’ home-based learning locations, and should be able to work independently and collaboratively. An Educational Assistant Certificate, behaviour intervention training, and experience with AAC, emotional regulation supports, or TouchChat are assets but are not required.
