Job summary
Position Start date: September 15, 2026 Position End date: One year Term, with a possibility of contract renewal Job Summary: This position is classified as an Independent Contractor and not an employee of the institution and will operate independently. Job responsibilities: Recruitment and Onboarding Support: Assist with posting job openings, screening resumes, and scheduling interviews. Coordinate communication with candidates and ensure a positive candidate experience. Maintain applicant tracking system (ATS) and ensure all records are up to date. Supporting the administrative part of the new hire process (screening, contracts, updating of HR systems). Coordinate with various departments to ensure new staff have necessary equipment and access. Employee Records Management: Maintain and update staff records, including personal information, Time off, and Job details. Ensure compliance with HR policies and procedures regarding record keeping. Benefits Administration: Assist employees with inquiries regarding benefits and enrollment processes. Support annual open enrollment process and communicate benefit changes to employees. Inform Payroll about adding or terminating benefits. Administrative Support: Manage HR department calendars, schedule meetings, and coordinate events. Assist with processing payroll and maintaining accurate payroll records. Answering all internal and external HR-related queries and requests Payroll Assisting with payroll and contractors' payments Assist with the issue of ROE and reimbursement of expenses. Conducting audits of HR programs such as payroll, benefits, L&D, etc Qualifications Minimum Qualification: A bachelor’s degree in human resources or a related field and a minimum of 1 or 2 years of relevant experience in HR and payroll work. Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of current employment legislation and BC Employment requirements. Knowledge of using QuickBooks Positive attitude, and approachable with a friendly, self-confident nature Attention to detail when reviewing written documents and following up on important dates Ability to handle sensitive information with professionalism and in a diplomatic way. Skilled in time management and organization techniques Skilled communicator, both verbal and in writing Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, Teams and intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel Experience with HR analytics and human resources metrics
