Type of Vacancy Existing Vacancy Hours of Work 15 hours per week Contract Length 1 year Department Transit Location This position is required to work in person at Burlington Transit Customer Service in the Burlington GO Station. Work location is subject to change at the discretion of the City due to operational demands. Position Overview This position is responsible for providing information to the public regarding schedules and selling of public transit fare media at Burlington Transit’s customer service windows at the Burlington GO Station. This position will require flexible working hours with a varied schedule including the potential to work evenings or weekends. Responsibilities The Clerk, Transit Rider Experience is responsible for: Selling of various fare media, load and sell Presto Cards and provide detailed trip planning and schedule information Responding to phone inquiries regarding scheduling of local and inter-city transit Entering customer service inquiries and complaints into the corporate Customer Relationship Management system to ensure timely resolution Preparing deposits for cash received and reconcile Point of Sale reports Requirements The successful candidate will have graduated High School. Knowledge of bus systems, transit routes, PRESTO and using tools like Google Maps, Apple Maps and Transit App would be an asset. Successful candidates must have 1 year in customer service with duties including handling and balancing cash, working with the public and answering the telephone. Computer experience with point of sale, knowledge of Microsoft Office tools and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) applications are considered an asset.
