We are seeking a skilled and reliable Building Maintenance Worker to join our team. This position is responsible for the inspection, maintenance, and repair of heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC), and related systems within municipal buildings, along with a variety of general building maintenance duties. Key Responsibilities Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on HVAC and related building systems Respond to maintenance requests, service calls, and emergency repairs Troubleshoot equipment issues and identify potential maintenance concerns Complete minor plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and painting repairs Assist with implementing preventive maintenance programs for building systems Read blueprints, plans, and technical documents Maintain accurate maintenance records and reports Coordinate and oversee external contractors as directed Assist with scheduling and supervising small operational work groups when required Qualifications Completion of Grade 12 supplemented by technical courses related to building maintenance, power engineering or a trades qualification, plus related building maintenance experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, building maintenance practices, tools, and equipment Working knowledge of plumbing and electrical systems Ability to diagnose equipment issues and perform minor repairs Ability to read blueprints, plans, and technical documents Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgement Ability to perform physically demanding work in various environments Valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence for the Province of British Columbia The City of Delta provides a competitive salary of $36.74 - $43.21 per hour and an excellent benefits package including a 9-day fortnight and Municipal Pension Plan.
