City of Kenora Internal Job Posting Desk Attendant Job Title: Desk Attendant Division: Recreation and Culture Location: Kenora, Ontario Salary: $27.82/hr Benefits: In accordance with Collective Agreement Hours of Work: In accordance with Collective Agreement Position Status: 2 Part-Time, Regular Posted Internally: October 6, 2026 Closing Date: October 14, 2026 The Part Time Desk Attendant will be the first point of customer contact and will be responsible for greeting customers and visitors in a friendly, professional manner and directing the visitor to the appropriate person if required. Responsible for delivering customer service in all front-line duties including reception, cashier, registration and membership accounts. Delivers a wide range of information on recreation services that are customer-focused and cost-efficient. Qualifications: Must have Grade 12 Diploma or equivalency. A minimum of one (1) year receptionist/switchboard experience A minimum of one (1) year computer related experience in a work environment Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel Current Standard First Aid Certificate (Red Cross, LSS or St. John Ambulance) or willing to obtain Working knowledge of computers, facsimile machine, and photocopier and switchboards Demonstrated cash handling experience Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing Ability to work independently and as member of a team Ability to get along well with others including supervisors, co-workers, members of the public and other partners in service The City of Kenora is an equal opportunity Employer and committed to building a workforce that reflects the rich diversity of the community we serve.
