Mission is a rapidly growing and dynamic community of approximately 41,500 residents, located 15 minutes north of the US border and 70 kilometers east of Vancouver. Although Mission is part of a broader metropolitan area, it still maintains its distinct and welcoming small-town character. Job Description The City of Mission Recreation Department is looking for qualified and enthusiastic instructors to teach Land Fitness (Yoga). The successful candidates will be responsible for creating a safe environment and supportive environment by demonstrating proper form, techniques, and modifications with clear and precise instruction. Applicants should have the ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment. Qualifications The successful candidate must have a recognized fitness certificate approved by a creditor plus recent related experience, including working with specialty fitness classes in a fitness facility, or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Group Fitness Instructor registration with BCRPA or CFES and Standard First Aid training is considered an asset. Additional Information The tentative schedule for this position is Sundays from 8:45-9:45am & Thursdays from 10:45-11:45am, with additional sub opportunities available on various days and times. Hours are subject to change. This position will be included in the CUPE bargaining unit once agreement on the terms & conditions of employment are finalized. The hourly rate of pay for this position is $36.90, plus 4% vacation pay. Division: Recreation Department: Community & Recreation Services Vacancy Status: Contract
