About

The City of Peterborough is an extraordinary community located in Central Ontario. We are a one-of-a-kind place, located on nature's doorstep – with many trails and parks right within our city and easy access to cottage country. We are close enough to major centres yet far enough to be an independent city with our own soul. Peterborough cannot be summed up with any one thing, rather it is the feeling of this place that is truly extraordinary. It is a place to gain a different perspective, to take a breath of fresh air, to find balance between personal and professional life. It is a region of communities that offer businesses, residents, and visitors an affordable and incredible place to grow. As an employer, the City of Peterborough is committed to the principles of integrity, accountability and openness and endeavors to maintain the highest level of public confidence in all that we do. Through the commitment and effort of staff, we are able to demonstrate our values, deliver quality public service and strive to achieve the City’s strategic vision. We offer diverse career opportunities across a wide variety of professional, trade, administrative, managerial and other employment roles. Our compensation package is competitive with excellent benefits and OMERS pension. As a member of the Coalition of Inclusive Municipalities, the City of Peterborough is committed to diversity and inclusion.
