Role Description The Senior Construction Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in the Portland, Oregon Metropolitan Area, responsible for overseeing complex civil construction projects from planning through closeout. This role leads field and office teams, coordinates contractors and subcontractors, and ensures work is executed in alignment with project plans, specifications, and regulatory requirements. Day-to-day tasks include managing schedules and budgets, monitoring construction progress, conducting site inspections, and enforcing safety standards. The Senior Construction Manager will collaborate with engineers, owners, and vendors to resolve issues, manage project controls and reporting, and drive timely decision-making. This position also mentors junior staff, supports constructability reviews, and contributes to continual improvement of processes and best practices. Qualifications Demonstrated supervisory skills, including leading multidisciplinary teams, assigning work, and supporting performance and development. Experience with budgeting, cost forecasting, and financial oversight for large civil construction projects. Strong knowledge of construction safety practices, regulations, and implementation of site-specific safety plans. Extensive civil construction experience, including reading plans and specifications, coordinating trades, and managing field operations. Proficiency in project control activities such as scheduling, progress tracking, change management, and reporting. Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience. Proficiency with construction management software and tools (e.g., scheduling platforms, project management systems, and MS Office). Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively on-site and in a team environment. Prior experience managing large or complex civil infrastructure projects in an urban environment is highly beneficial.
