Together, we are committed to creating a sustainable seafood future for generations to come.The OpportunityClearwater Seafoods is currently seeking a Maintenance Technician to join our team at our seafood processing facility in Lockeport, Nova Scotia. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring equipment reliability, plant efficiency, and safe operations through preventative and corrective maintenance activities.What You'll DoPerform preventative, scheduled, and emergency maintenance on plant equipmentInspect, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain processing, packaging, and material handling equipmentRepair and maintain hydraulic systems, forklifts (electric and propane/gas), and other production equipmentInstall, modify, adjust, dismantle, and replace equipment components as requiredConduct equipment inspections and recommend repairs, replacements, or improvementsComplete maintenance documentation, inspections, and work ordersSupport ongoing plant operations by responding to maintenance requests and breakdownsMaintain a safe work environment and follow all company safety proceduresPerform general maintenance duties as assignedWhat We're Looking ForRequired Qualifications1-3 years of maintenance, mechanical, industrial, plant, or related experienceStrong mechanical aptitude and a willingness to learnAbility to safely use hand and power toolsExperience troubleshooting equipment or a strong interest in developing these skillsAbility to read and follow technical manuals, work instructions, and maintenance proceduresStrong problem-solving and organizational skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamBasic computer skills for maintenance records and work ordersDemonstrated commitment to workplace health and safetyAssetsExperience with electrical, hydraulic, or pneumatic systemsWelding or fabrication experienceTechnical training, trade certification, apprenticeship experience, or vocational educationExperience in a manufacturing or food processing environmentWhat Success Looks LikeDependable, reliable, and self-motivatedStrong attention to detailComfortable working in a fast-paced production environmentAble to manage multiple priorities and respond to changing operational needsFlexible and willing to work shifts and overtime when requiredWorking ConditionsFull-time positionShift work requiredSeafood processing facility environmentExposure to wet conditions and varying production demandsUse of personal protective equipment (PPE) requiredWhy Join Clearwater?Competitive compensationComprehensive benefits packageOpportunity for career growth and developmentWork with an industry-leading, proudly Indigenous-owned companyBe part of a team committed to sustainability, innovation, and excellenceApply TodayIf you are a motivated maintenance professional looking for an opportunity to grow your career with a respected Canadian company, we encourage you to apply.
