Job summary
Position Overview We are looking for an experienced SharePoint Developer to design, configure, and deploy a modern SharePoint Online intranet that serves as a centralized hub for employee collaboration and communication. The successful candidate will work closely with business stakeholders to develop department-specific communication sites while ensuring a consistent user experience, effective governance, and an intuitive information architecture. Key Responsibilities Design and build a modern SharePoint Online Intranet Hub Site for the organization. Create and configure department-specific communication sites and landing pages. Develop a scalable information architecture, including site structure, navigation, metadata, and taxonomy. Gather requirements from department stakeholders and translate business needs into effective SharePoint solutions. Configure document libraries, web parts, page templates, permissions, and content management processes. Establish consistent branding, navigation, and user experience across all department sites. Provide recommendations on governance, site ownership, and long-term maintenance. Conduct testing, user training, and knowledge transfer to internal teams. Ensure all deliverables are completed within an accelerated project timeline. Required Qualifications Proven experience developing and launching SharePoint Online intranets in enterprise environments. Strong understanding of: SharePoint Online Microsoft 365 ecosystem Hub Sites and Communication Sites Information Architecture Metadata and Taxonomy Management Document Management Best Practices Experience gathering requirements and working directly with business stakeholders. Ability to manage multiple workstreams and deliver quality solutions within tight deadlines Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience creating employee intranets for professional services, financial services, or corporate organizations. Knowledge of Microsoft Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Apps, Power BI). Experience implementing governance frameworks and content lifecycle management. Familiarity with employee engagement and internal communications best practices. Deliverables The contractor will be responsible for delivering: Corporate SharePoint Intranet Hub Site Department Communication Sites (e.g., People & Culture, Finance, Investments, Marketing, Legal, Operations, IT) Standardized page templates and navigation structure. Metadata and document management framework Governance recommendations and site administration guide Administrator knowledge transfer and end-user training materials Location: India & Canada
