Addiction and Mental Health Worker, Supported Employment and Education (SEE) Specialist, Elgin PEPP Direct Service - (OPSEU) Full-Time, Contract (End Date: March 31, 2027) This posting is the result of a current vacancy. The PEPP Employment Specialist works as part of the interdisciplinary Prevention and Early Intervention Program for Psychosis (PEPP) team to provide recovery-oriented, client-centred services to youth and young adults experiencing early psychosis. Working collaboratively with clients, families, the PEPP team and community partners, the PEPP Specialist provides assessment, treatment, case management and practical support to help clients achieve their recovery, education, employment and community-integration goals. WHAT WE'RE OFFERING: What you'll be making - Starting rate for this role is $27.14 per hour (Level 1 – Direct Service), with a wage differential, based on regulation ($30.01 per hour for Level 1 – Direct Service, Regulated): Successful candidates who are registered with one of the designated professional colleges (e.g. OCSWSSW, CNO, COTO, CRPO, CPSO, or CPO) will receive the wage differential for regulation Successful external applicants will start at Level 1, with grid progression based on seniority up to Level 8 ($34.41 per hour for non-regulated, and $37.26 per hour for regulated); for internal applicants, grid level placement will occur as per the Collective Agreement When you'll work - 70 hours biweekly; Monday to Friday, 8:30am-4:30pm, with a 1-hour unpaid meal break Your pension plan –Immediately eligible for optional enrolment in the Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan (HOOPP) What your benefits will be – 9% in lieu of benefits HOW YOU WILL BE MAKING A DIFFERENCE: Work collaboratively with clients, families/significant others and the interdisciplinary treatment team to develop, implement and evaluate individualized recovery goals. Provide case management and coordinate care with health care providers, schools, community agencies and other supports. Support clients in identifying and achieving education and employment goals, including successful return to or continuation of school and work. Support clients in developing independent living, social, coping and community-integration skills. Engage and support families and caregivers as partners in the client's recovery, where appropriate. Monitor client progress and changing needs and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to adjust treatment plans as required. Facilitate referrals and connections to appropriate community resources and services. Participate in program development, evaluation and quality-improvement activities. Maintain timely, accurate clinical documentation in accordance with professional and organizational standards. Work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team and participate in case conferences, team meetings and care planning. WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO APPLY: Police Vulnerable Sector Check Requirements Successful candidates must have a Police Vulnerable Sector Check (PVSC) completed in the last six months. Interested applicants who are in need of a PVSC are encouraged to apply for one as soon as possible as offers of employment cannot be made without receipt of a PVSC. We require the following qualifications: University Degree or College Diploma in one of the following disciplines: Social Service Worker (SSW) / Registered Social Worker (RSW) Registered Nurse (RN) Occupational Therapist (OT) Child and Youth Worker (primary proof of credentials will be required during the hiring process i.e. original degree/diploma or official transcript) Current, satisfactory Police Vulnerable Sector Check (PVSC) Valid Driver’s License: minimum G2 class required Access to a vehicle required for personal transportation Regular travel within the Elgin County region Demonstrated ability to attend work regularly Current registration and good standing with the applicable regulatory college, where required. Experience working in mental health services with youth and/or young adults. Knowledge of serious mental illness, psychosis and recovery-oriented care. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team. Excellent assessment, interpersonal, communication, organizational and documentation skills. Ability to work independently and manage competing clinical priorities. We prefer the following qualifications: First Aid & CPR certification Nonviolent Crisis Intervention & ASIST training Training to administer Naloxone Experience working with adolescents and young adults experiencing first-episode or early psychosis. Experience providing individual and group interventions. Experience supporting education and employment goals. Experience providing case management and coordinating services across health, education and community systems. Knowledge of Early Psychosis Intervention principles and evidence-based practices. Knowledge or experience with the NAVIGATE model.
