Job summary
Job Description The Cost Estimation Technician will assist in the preparation of Estimates to ensure all requirements specified in the Request for Quote (RFQ) are fulfilled in a timely manner, and that the Estimation procedures and processes are followed. Role and responsibilities Set up directory folders & framework for Estimates. Prepare Estimates for analysis. Import Customer Bill Of Materials (BOM) data and populate Estimation worksheets. Extract Outsourced Items and research their costing. Prepare outsourcing packages. Analyze sheet metal costs and feasibility of fabrication. Complete piece-work Estimates. Work with SolidWorks Import and transform 3d model file formats. Create fabrication drawings for vendors. Extract Engineering BOMs Knowledge and Skill Requirements Manufacturing environment experience preferred – Generalist Well-organized and detail oriented. Strong Excel skills (Organize, scrub and export data) Experience with 3D models and manufacturing drawings is required. Office software literate preferred: Outlook, word, Adobe Acrobat Spatial aptitude is important (cognitive ability to visualize geometric shapes). Growth mindset, curiosity, and a passion for learning. Software Training and Technical Training are available for the right candidate. Master the French language and the English (communications with suppliers from the United States).
