Job Summary The Account Manager, Supply Chain Sales is responsible for identifying and pursuing opportunities with both new and existing customers to sell Consumer Products. The incumbent asks customers the right questions in order to understand their transportation needs and match these to CN’s service delivery capabilities. Moreover, the incumbent needs to stay abreast of competitive developments in the customers’ markets and pursue opportunities for growth. Main Responsibilities · Handle all commercial aspects of a portfolio of several key customers · Develop account growth strategies for customers and maintain existing relationships · Deliver yearly revenue and price targets as set out by the company · Collaborate with Operations personnel to identify available capacity for opportunistic selling to improve overall yield and asset utilization · Cross-sell the full suite of CN Transportation services · Address any potential service issues proactively with Operations personnel · Develop a reliable monthly revenue and volume forecast · Handle contract renewals and regular negotiations Working Conditions The role has standard working conditions in an office environment with a regular workweek from Monday to Friday. Due to the nature of the role, the incumbent must be able to meet tight deadlines, handle pressure, and stress. The role requires minimal travel (up to 20%) within Canada and the United States (U.S.). Requirements Experience Sales or Marketing · Minimum 3 years of experience in sales or marketing, preferably within transportation and logistics services o Experience with major contract negotiations Education/Certification/Designation · Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Commerce, Marketing, Finance or Business Administration, or possess an equivalent designation Competencies · Demonstrates active listening · Solves problems to create value · Collaborate with others and shares information · Communicates with impact · Knows the business and stays current on industry needs · Demonstrates agility and drives change Technical Skills/Knowledge · Understanding of rail or other transportation services · High level of computer knowledge and Microsoft Office About CN CN is a premium railroad that sustainably generates value for our customers, shareholders, employees, and stakeholders with an unwavering commitment to safety and service.
