Role Description The Client Care Specialist is a full-time, on-site role based at Cobequid Animal Hospital in Lower Sackville, NS. This position serves as the first point of contact for clients, greeting visitors, answering phone calls, responding to emails, and scheduling appointments in a friendly and professional manner. Daily responsibilities include managing check-in and check-out processes, processing payments, explaining invoices, and coordinating follow-up visits and preventive care reminders. The role also involves maintaining accurate client and patient records, supporting the veterinary team with communication to clients, and ensuring the reception area is welcoming and organized. The Client Care Specialist helps foster strong client relationships by providing clear information, addressing questions and concerns, and promoting a positive experience at every visit. Qualifications Strong customer service and customer satisfaction skills, with a focus on creating positive experiences for clients and their pets. Ability to support customer retention through relationship-building, follow-up communication, and consistent, reliable service. Excellent communication skills, including clear verbal and written communication and active listening. Professional phone etiquette and comfort handling a high volume of calls and inquiries. Experience in a client-facing role, preferably in a veterinary, medical, or service-oriented environment. Basic computer proficiency, including appointment scheduling systems, email, and data entry. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a busy setting. Empathy and patience when working with clients in emotionally sensitive situations involving their pets. Ability to work collaboratively with veterinary and support staff and to follow established procedures. High school diploma or equivalent required; additional training or coursework in customer service, office administration, or veterinary reception is an asset.
