Job summary

Schedules appointment times with carriers and production to ensure timely and efficient deliveries. Schedules inbound appointments with mills and carriers within production receiving schedules. Coordinates import/export shipments and works with carriers, customs brokers, and internal stakeholders to ensure shipments clear customs and all required import documentation is completed accurately and on time. Responsible for other tasks as assigned by management. Job Duties/Responsibilities: Responsible for scheduling outbound trucks to meet customer’s delivery times. Confirms all shipments daily and communicates with inside sales the schedule and whether there are issues with shipments or truck. Organizes the daily shipment and inbound trucks from mills & coil coaters. Manages carriers to ensure competitive freight rates, safe equipment and valid insurance documentation. Seeks new quotes and new carriers when opportunities are presented. Obtains quotes and manages inbound freight not covered by mills, i.e. import inbound. Maintains approved carrier list, ensuring all carrier documentation, certifications, insurance, and compliance requirements remain current and are renewed as required. Examines shipping invoices to ensure correct rates vs quoted rates. Traces shipments, redelivery, and other applicable charges. Occasionally reroutes urgent shipments or arranges for special delivery at destination. Schedules carrier outbound/inbound appointments for the following day in conjunction with production scheduling. Coordinates customs clearance activities for import & export shipments, ensuring all required documentation is submitted accurately and on time. Works with customs brokers, carriers, and supplier to resolve clearance issues and minimize delays. Maintain a clean work environment. Qualifications and Skills: * Basic understanding of customs clearance processes, import documentation, and cross-border shipping requirements. * Ability to coordinate, multitask, and prioritize in a fast-paced environment. * Problem solving and decision-making abilities. * Detail oriented with the ability to review documents and paperwork for accuracy * Basic understanding of Incoterm Experience & Education: * Associates degree or an equivalent amount of work experience is required * 1-2 years experience in transportation, logistics, shipping, or supply chain coordination * Experience managing import shipments and working with customs brokers preferred * Experience reviewing freight invoices, freight rates, and transportation documentation Coilplus, Inc. is an equal opportunity employer. Requirements
Candidates must have an associate degree or equivalent experience, along with 1-2 years of experience in logistics, shipping, or supply chain roles. A basic understanding of customs processes, Incoterms, and freight documentation is required.
