Salary Information CG37 - $65,756.60 - $73,473.40 per annum Duties And Responsibilities The Business Development Officer (BDO) is a key member of the Customized and Continuous Learning (CCL) Division at College of the North Atlantic ensures the College's customized and continuous learning programs and courses align with current and emerging workforce needs by: Planning, coordinating, and overseeing the development and delivery of customized training programs and services and continuing education offerings, ensuring high quality, strong performance, and a focus on cost efficiency and overall business competitiveness. Assessing training needs by researching and analyzing labour market trends and developing solutions to address skills gaps and support workforce development. Researching funding opportunities, preparing proposals, and helping to develop budgets and cost estimates for training programs. Managing training contracts from start to finish, ensuring compliance, tracking progress, reviewing deliverables, and keeping accurate records. Promoting CNA's training services to clients through outreach, consultations, and presentations to internal and external audiences. Preparing reports and evaluations on training programs, outcomes, and finances, and facilitate campus engagement for program delivery. Building and maintaining relationships with industry, government, Indigenous communities, and other stakeholders to identify training needs, promote CNA programs, and support collaboration, with a provincial scope. Coordinating and overseeing programs in the communities of NL, promoting respectful engagement and strong partnerships with community leaders. Performing additional duties as required to support the goals and operations of the Customized and Continuous Learning Division. Screening Criteria Degree in Business Administration, Commerce, or related discipline ( equivalencies will be considered ). Experience in business development, contract development, OR training coordination within a higher education or corporate environment. Assessment Criteria Knowledge of business development principles and practices. Knowledge of computer applications, including presentation software. Ability to exchange information effectively. Ability to deliver exceptional client service. Ability to work independently with limited supervision. Ability to manage time and tasks. Professionalism. Relationship building skills. Conditions of Acceptance This position requires frequent travel to engage with stakeholders, assess training needs, coordinate program delivery, and maintain strong community and industry partnerships.
