Job summary

We are seeking a Cell Guard to join our team at Abbotsford Police Department. The successful candidate will be committed to safety, accountability, and delivering high standards of care and custody Schedule: Saturday & Sunday 6am - 2pm Payrate: $25/hr Some of your responsibilities include: Monitoring the safety and custody of detention prisoners Up-to-date knowledge of prisoner records and conditions of care Performing regular checks-ins with prisoners to verify well-being Maintaining security and cleanliness of cells, including damage and contraband inspections Prepare and serve meals for prisoners, including retrieval of utensils Handling the collection and sending out of laundry Investigating and reporting any unusual behavior promptly and accurately Assisting law enforcement with forms and prisoner records First responder in building emergencies such as evacuations and medical emergencies Reporting to the Site Supervisor and Operations management for further duties as necessary Your Must-Haves: Basic First Aid/Occupational First Aid Level 1 Ability to clear a Criminal Background Check, including APD clearance Minimum 5 years residence in Canada (for clearance eligibility) Demonstrated interest and experience in serving the public Professional standard of conduct, dress and deportment Comfortable using computers and report writing Ability to handle emergency situations in a calm and professional manner Fluent English written, verbal and reading skills Your Nice-To-Haves: Valid BC Security Licence Advanced Security Training RCMP or Policing experience Experience working in a similar role What’s in it for you? Requirements

Candidates must possess a valid First Aid certification and be able to pass a criminal background check, including APD clearance. A minimum of 5 years of residence in Canada is required, along with professional conduct and strong communication skills.
