Commissionaires BC is currently hiring Security Guards to work at a Government site located in Vancouver, BC. This role is ideal for individuals who are detail-oriented, professional, and interested in gaining experience in a secure government environment. Schedule: Monday - Wednesday from 1700 - 0500 & Thursday - Friday from 1700 - 0500 Payrate: $22.97/hour (5pm-10pm) / $24.47/hour (10pm-5am) Due to the nature of the site, you will be required to obtain a Secret Clearance from the Canadian Government. Key Responsibilities Access control Escort construction workers while projects are being completed on site. Maintain continuous visual contact with escorted individuals using Temporary Passes Escort individuals to and from uncontrolled, restricted, and sterile areas Verify all Temporary Passes against lost and stolen pass lists prior to entry Notify appropriate parties upon entry to and exit from the facility Report all safety or security incidents to the Senior Escort, regardless of severity Ensure required escort ratios are maintained at all times Your Must Haves … Valid BC Security License Eligible to obtain a Secret Clearance Have lived in Canada for a minimum of 10 years Able to provide address and employment history for the last 10 years with no unexplained gaps Hold Canadian citizenship or PR Basic First Aid/OFA 1 Class 5 Drivers License Excellent English oral and written skills Strong administrative skills You’re a good fit if you have… Demonstrated interest and experience in serving the public Positive and professional attitude, with strong customer service skills Strong administrative skills Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills Ability to handle emergency situations in a calm and professional manner Excellent multi-tasking, prioritizing, and organizational abilities Ability to work independently and make sound decisions under pressure What’s in it for you?
