We Invite Applications For The Temporary Position Of 0.50 FTE Grades K-7 Teacher Librarian Anticipated location to be at Airport Elementary The successful candidate will have education, training and demonstrated abilities in the following areas: Masters Degree in Library Science, or Teacher Librarian Certificate or Diploma Program Ability to advocate and facilitate learning opportunities that lead to the continuous improvement of instruction and assessment Ability and experience developing student's critical thinking, communication, collaboration, & creative skills Ability to troubleshoot and support classroom teachers with minor technological hardware component problems Desire to promote and foster literacy to empower lifelong learners to construct informed decisions; evidence based arguments Demonstrated ability to create and implement opportunities that foster and develop digital citizenship so that students learn to ethically and effectively acquire, evaluate, analyze, synthesize, create and share information for a variety of authentic purposes. Knowledge and experience with the selection, acquisition, organization, and purchasing processes in obtaining resources, both print and electronic, onsite and remote access. Ability to organize, maintain, evaluate, select, order and provide print, digital and non-print materials that improve student learning, student engagement, aboriginal connections and curriculum. Demonstrated ability to cultivate opportunities for personalized, participatory & experiential learning. Ie. Author visits, Makerspace, Coding, etc. Familiar with the Follett Automated Library System including management of the system. Familiar with copyright and site licensing. Experience and ability to provide leadership and guidance to the Library Clerks and Library Substitutes as needed. Ability to display a high level of communication, flexibility and collaboration working with members of the school community. Other duties as assigned. Excellent interpersonal, communication and collaboration skills with staff and the school community. Ability to model instructional strategies and coach staff members in the integration of technology with curriculum & other resources. French language proficiency in schools offering French Immersion.
