Concept2, a global market leader in the design and manufacture of fitness ergometers and composite racing oars, is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Assistant Accountant to support its finance and accounting activities in Kingston, Ontario. This part-time position helps maintain accurate records, complete reconciliations, support period-end close, and prepare financial information in accordance with company policies, internal controls, and applicable Canadian accounting and tax requirements. Primary Responsibilities Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions, including invoices, payment requests, expense reports, vendor and customer records, and routine collection activity. Prepare and post journal entries, maintain accurate accounting records, complete bank, credit card, and other account reconciliations; investigate discrepancies and resolve routine issues. Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities, financial and management reporting, supporting schedules, and budget preparation. Maintain the fixed asset register; record acquisitions, disposals, transfers, and capital expenditures; and calculate monthly depreciation and amortization. Support payroll-related accounting and reconciliations and maintain GST/HST and other tax-related records and reporting. Maintain organized financial documentation, follow company policies, internal controls, and applicable Canadian requirements, and perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. 1–3 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience preferred. Knowledge of Canadian accounting practices and GST/HST requirements. Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, or ERP systems. Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including formulas and spreadsheets. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Good organizational and time-management skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality when handling financial information. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Compensation: CAD $30.00–$34.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications. This is a part-time position expected to work approximately 20 hours per week.
