Position Summary Temporary Part-Time Support Staff, new position (September 8, 2026 – April 30, 2027) Reporting to the Manager, Accessibility Services, the Educational Assistant works collaboratively within an interdisciplinary Student Success Services team to support students with disabilities in accessing and participating fully in their academic environment. The incumbent provides individualized assistance that promotes student success, independence, and inclusion, including support with understanding classroom instruction, physical navigation, note-taking, accessing online materials, in-class redirection, and setting up or taking down workspaces and adaptive equipment. Through a student-centred approach, the Educational Assistant helps reduce barriers to learning and fosters an accessible and supportive educational experience Successful candidates must be available to work on-site, Monday to Friday, between the hours of 8:00am and 7:00pm. The Part-Time Educational Assistant will be scheduled for 24 hours per week. Successful candidates will be based out of Conestoga’s Doon Campus, located at 299 Doon Valley Dr. Kitchener. The schedule is subject to change with proper notice. Responsibilities Provide academic accommodation support services to students with disabilities, including note-taking, scribing, transcribing, reading assistance, research support, and classroom set-up. Assist students in accessing and utilizing accommodation-related equipment, software, and assistive technologies, providing instruction and troubleshooting as required. Orient students to campus facilities, accessible resources, and support services to promote independence and academic success. Maintain accurate records and documentation related to accommodation services while ensuring confidentiality and compliance with privacy requirements. Collaborate with faculty, staff, and Student Accessibility Services personnel to coordinate accommodation supports and address student needs in a timely manner. Monitor the effectiveness of accommodations and communicate concerns, barriers, or recommendations to appropriate staff members. Qualifications A two-year diploma in Disability Services, Child and Youth Care, Developmental Services Worker, or Personal Support Worker is required Minimum one year of practical experience supporting individuals with disabilities, students, or clients in an educational, community, healthcare, or related setting Familiarity with accessibility legislation, inclusive practices, and accommodations for students with disabilities is considered an asset Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment when supporting students and handling sensitive information

Requirements
