Job Title:- Data Modeler – Cloud/Azure Location: Toronto Canada Contract: Long-Term Contract Job Overview We are looking for an experienced Data Modeler to support cloud and data modernization initiatives. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience in data modeling, SQL, Azure data platforms, data mapping, and data governance. Banking or financial services experience is preferred. Key Responsibilities Design and maintain Conceptual, Logical, and Physical Data Models. Develop source-to-target mappings, data flows, data lineage, and metadata. Translate business and technical requirements into scalable enterprise data models. Work closely with Data Architects, Data Engineers, Business Analysts, and Technology teams. Develop and optimize SQL queries and support complex database structures. Work with Azure data services including ADLS, Azure Databricks, Azure Synapse, and Azure Data Factory (ADF). Support data integration, transformation, migration, and modernization initiatives. Ensure data models comply with data governance, quality, security, and architecture standards. Identify data dependencies, relationships, and business rules across enterprise data platforms. Maintain data dictionaries, metadata, lineage, and modeling documentation. Must-Have Skills 7+ years of experience in Data Modeling or Data Architecture. Strong expertise in SQL and database concepts. Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure data platforms. Experience with ERwin, PowerDesigner, or similar data modeling tools. Strong understanding of Conceptual, Logical, and Physical Data Modeling. Experience with data mapping, lineage, metadata, and data governance. Experience with ADLS, Databricks, Synapse, and ADF. Strong communication and collaboration skills. Banking / Financial Services experience preferred.
