Join us As an Field Electrical Engineer – Industrial Switchgear, you will be responsible for evaluating, diagnosing, and optimizing our customers’ industrial electrical equipment. Working closely with technical teams, you will lead maintenance and modernization projects, contribute to the resolution of complex technical challenges, and help ensure the reliability, performance, and safety of electrical installations. KEY RESPONSABILITIES * Inspect, diagnose, and commission industrial electrical equipment, including circuit breakers, protective relays, transformers, motor control centres (MCCs), and other switching equipment. * Perform testing, preventive inspections, and technical assessments to recommend appropriate corrective actions. * Manage maintenance, modernization, replacement, and upgrade projects for electrical equipment, from planning through commissioning. * Prepare technical reports, documentation, and required drawings, and provide recommendations to customers. * Collaborate with technical teams and customers to resolve electrical issues and ensure successful project execution. * Work closely with other engineers on the team by providing technical support and contributing to various projects and assignments as needed. * Ensure compliance with safety standards and industry best practices during all field activities. * Maintain up-to-date knowledge of technologies, equipment, and applicable standards. QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE * Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrotechnical Engineering, or a related field. * Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ). * 5–8 years of relevant experience in an industrial environment. * Experience with low- and medium-voltage electrical switchgear (circuit breakers, protective relays, MCCs, transformers, and power distribution systems). * Field service experience or technical support experience with industrial customers is considered an asset. * Experience in the inspection, diagnosis, commissioning, or maintenance of industrial electrical equipment. * Experience managing technical projects from planning through commissioning. * Strong knowledge of electrical safety standards and industry best practices. * Ability to analyze technical issues and provide practical recommendations tailored to customer needs. * Proficiency with Microsoft Office. * Excellent verbal and written communication skills in French. * Functional English is considered an asset. #LI-ONSITE ABOUT LAURENTIDE Laurentide’s purpose is To Help Industry Thrive in Eastern Canada.
