WHAT YOU’LL DO: Role: CoolIT Systems, Inc. is hiring a full-time Test Specialist (Mechanical/PCL) to lead passive cold plate loop and vertical rack manifold testing and qualification activities. In this role, you will develop and execute test plans to verify products meet internal and customer requirements. You will analyze hardware and software specifications, design test strategies, and evaluate the performance and reliability of electromechanical systems. Responsibilities include conducting temperature, pressure, flow, and mechanical stress tests, identifying design issues, troubleshooting failures through root cause analysis, and supporting engineering improvements. You will also assist with test equipment development, component selection, technical documentation, and detailed reporting of test results and recommendations. Responsibilities: * Design, develop and implement NPI product validation and qualification test plans for thermal and fluid-cooling systems, focusing on cold plates, manifolds, seals, and electromechanical assemblies. * Apply heat transfer and thermodynamics principles and knowledge to interpret thermal tests for liquid-cooled components. * Understand hardware and software requirements and design documents to develop comprehensive test strategies and procedures. * Design and evaluate validation protocols, including HALT, thermal, pressure, mechanical, flow (PQ), thermal performance (RQ), and packaging integrity testing. * Investigate failure modes including fatigue, corrosion, creep, thermal cycle degradation, and manufacturing defects. * Perform risk assessments based on bill of material, design reviews, manufacturing processes and other available engineering documents to qualify products. * Conduct material compatibility evaluations on metals, elastomers, polymers, fittings, and surface-finished components. * Prepare technical reports and validation documentation to support engineering release and customer approval. * Analyze test data to validate design performance and recommend design improvements to ensure compliance with technical specifications. * Conduct root cause analysis of test failures and coordinate cross-functional corrective actions. * Exercise engineering judgment in technical disposition and decisions in collaboration with cross functional teams. * Provide technical guidance and training to technicians and technologists. * Maintain test logs, records, and reports in alignment with internal processes. * Ensure compliance with all lab safety requirements and best practices. WHO YOU ARE: Basic Qualifications: * Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or other relevant field. * Proven experience in solidworks design, including 3D modeling, detailed drawings, assembly design, and design for manufacturability (DFM). * A minimum of 3 years of engineering experience in a testing environment. * Working knowledge of instrumentation including pressure transducers, temperatures sensors, flow sensors, etc. * Solid experience in setting up and using DAQ's, sensors, and actuators for data-driven analysis. * Experience in using diagnostic bench tools (oscilloscope, power analyzer, logic analyzer, multimeter, etc.). * Demonstrated experience in analyzing, testing, and qualifying electro-mechanical parts and systems. Preferred Qualifications: * Master’s degree is considered an asset. * P.Eng designation considered an asset. * Experience with data center liquid cooling systems. * Familiarity with rack-level cooling infrastructure such as manifolds, hoses, quick disconnects, and fittings. Skills: * Excellent communication and collaboration skills. * Strong analytical and structured problem-solving skills * High attention to detail and technical documentation accuracy. WHY COOLIT?
