Job details
The Company Correct-AI is a fast-growing Canadian company that develops advanced robotics and perception systems to ensure the safe, automated, and assisted mobility of vehicles and machinery in real time. Our systems use camera and LiDAR data to detect, classify, and track objects while estimating their size, position, and distance from the vehicle. Correct-AI combines robust hardware with advanced robotics software, machine learning, and artificial intelligence to provide real-time situational awareness and actionable information to vehicle operators and control systems. Correct-AI is developing this technology with an experienced multidisciplinary team and pursuing market opportunities across several industrial sectors. The Career Opportunity Correct-AI is seeking a Software Engineer to join our core engineering team. Reporting to the Director of Technology, the successful candidate will be responsible for developing, integrating, and deploying software across our perception and robotics products, supporting real-world system installations, and contributing to the continuous improvement of Correct-AI's systems. This role offers direct exposure to production systems operating on real vehicles and machinery, with the opportunity to work across the full stack — from embedded platforms and sensor pipelines to cloud infrastructure and data tooling. Key Accountabilities Design, develop, and maintain production software in C++ and Python across perception, control, and infrastructure layers. Build and improve object detection, classification, tracking, and distance estimation pipelines using camera and LiDAR data. Develop and deploy applications on Linux-based embedded and edge computing platforms. Integrate systems with vehicle control interfaces, ECUs, and CAN bus networks. Build and maintain cloud infrastructure and data pipelines on AWS. Contribute to ML model training, evaluation, and deployment workflows. Support system bring-up, calibration, testing, and validation on vehicles and heavy equipment. Assist with the installation and commissioning of Correct-AI products on-site. Provide technical support and troubleshooting for deployed systems, both remotely and on-site. Collaborate with engineering teams to analyze field data, resolve issues, and improve system reliability. Contribute to technical documentation, diagnostics, and deployment procedures. Travel to customer sites as required for field testing, installation, and training. Minimum Requirements Degree or diploma in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field. 2+ years of professional software development experience. Strong C++ skills with experience writing perform-ant, production-quality code. Solid Python for tooling, scripting, data processing, and application development. Experience working in Linux-based environments. Strong troubleshooting skills across software, hardware, and system-level issues. Ability to work hands-on with physical systems in lab and field environments. Strong communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration and customer-facing interactions. Willingness to travel for field deployments and on-site support. Candidate Profile: Skills and Qualifications Core Technical Skills C++ & Python: Strong development skills with a track record of shipping production software. Embedded & Linux: Comfortable developing and deploying on Linux-based embedded platforms. Nice to Have Experience with AWS or another major cloud platform. Experience with LiDAR, cameras, or other perception sensors (point cloud processing, sensor calibration). Background in machine learning — model training, evaluation, or deployment using frameworks like PyTorch or TensorFlow. Familiarity with robotics concepts: coordinate frames, sensor fusion, or ROS/ROS2. Experience with CAN bus, vehicle ECUs, or embedded systems. Who You Are A hands-on developer who is comfortable moving between software, hardware, and field environments. Detail-oriented with strong troubleshooting instincts across complex integrated systems. A clear communicator who can translate technical concepts for operators and technicians. Adaptable and self-directed in a fast-moving environment with evolving requirements. Compensation An excellent compensation package awaits the successful candidate. Correct-AI offers a comprehensive compensation package (salary + bonus + benefits) and a strong learning environment with the opportunity to apply advanced software and AI technologies to real-world safety-critical applications.
