Description: The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) works as a member of the multidisciplinary health care team, collaborating in the delivery of holistic care and support to patients/residents and families. The LPN practices to full scope, applying professional nursing knowledge, clinical judgment, critical thinking, and communication skills to support safe care and positive health outcomes. The role is committed to providing person-centred, culturally safe, and inclusive care that respects the diverse backgrounds, experiences, values, and needs of patients/residents and families. The LPN contributes to a culture of learning and professional practice excellence by orienting, coaching, mentoring, and supporting the development of staff, students, and learners. The role promotes knowledge sharing and collaborative practice to enhance individual, team, and organizational effectiveness. The LPN fosters an inclusive learning environment that encourages respectful engagement and equitable opportunities for growth and development. The LPN demonstrates leadership within their scope of practice by coordinating care activities, supporting effective team functioning, and contributing to quality improvement and patient/resident safety initiatives. Requirements

Candidates must be graduates of a Practical Nursing program with active registration with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses and Health Care Aides of Alberta. Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (Level C) certification is also required.
