Unit 41 is an integral part of the Northern Alberta Vascular Centre (NAVC) is based at the Grey Nuns Hospital under the auspices of Covenant Health. Nurses can expect to work with surgery patients with complex medical needs. NAVC provides vascular surgery and interventions for Northern Alberta, Northern B.C., Saskatchewan and the Territories; a catchment area of approximately 2.3 million people. Description: Description: The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) works as a member of the multidisciplinary health care team, collaborating on the delivery of holistic, comprehensive care and support to patients/residents and families. The LPN must be able to team lead effectively on their own. The LPN works to the full scope of practice in providing safe, quality care in accordance with established standards, and the Mission, Vision, Values, policies and procedures of Covenant Health. This position is covered by the terms and conditions of the AUPE Auxiliary Nursing Collective Agreement. Classification: Licensed Practical Nurse Union: COV AUPE AUX Unit and Program: Unit 41, Vascular Surgery Primary Location: Grey Nuns Community Hospital Location Details: As Per Location Multi-Site: Not Applicable FTE: 1.00 Posting End Date: 17-AUG-2026 Temporary Employee Class: Temp F/T Benefits Date Available: 05-OCT-2026 Temporary End Date: 05-OCT-2027 Hours per Shift: 7.75 Length of Shift in weeks: 4 Shifts per cycle: 20 Shift Pattern: Days, Evenings, Weekends Days Off: As Per Rotation Minimum Salary: $33.16 Maximum Salary: $43.42 Vehicle Requirement: Not Applicable Required Qualifications: Required Qualifications: Graduate of a Practical Nursing program or recognized equivalent required. Active registration with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses and Health Care Aides of Alberta (CLHA). Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (Level C) required. Additional Required Qualifications: Recent acute care nursing experience and/or a recent successful surgical preceptorship within the last year required. Requirements
