PURPOSE OF THE POSITION: As a Manager, Signals & Communications Operations in Scarborough, ON, you’ll lead field teams supporting the safety, reliability, and performance of critical rail systems across Eastern Ontario. In this hands-on leadership role, you’ll oversee daily operations, maintenance and outage response, resource planning, compliance, and continuous improvement while working closely with Operations, Engineering, and frontline teams to keep trains moving safely and efficiently. POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES: Lead Signals and Communications field teams to deliver safe reliable operations Plan prioritize and execute maintenance inspections and corrective work Monitor system performance and resolve outages to minimize service disruption Coordinate track access and work windows with Operations and Engineering Ensure compliance with company standards safety rules and regulatory requirements Manage contractors materials and budgets to meet cost and timeline targets Drive continuous improvement root cause analysis and best practice adoption Develop schedules coach talent and build a high performance safety culture POSITION REQUIREMENTS: High school diploma 2+ years of railroad industry experience in Signals & Communications Valid driver’s license Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and respond to after hours emergencies Ability to meet all safety critical medical and drug testing requirements as applicable WHAT CPKC HAS TO OFFER: Flexible and competitive benefits package Competitive company pension and/or retirement plans Employee share purchase plan Annual fitness subsidy Part-time studies program PRE-EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS: Medical and Drug Testing This is a safety sensitive position and a successful pre-employment medical assessment including physical, vision, hearing, and a negative company drug test is required. Requirements
Requires a high school diploma and at least 2 years of railroad industry experience in Signals & Communications. Candidates must possess a valid driver's license and be able to pass safety-critical medical and drug testing.
