Job summary
Job Summary Monstercat is building a high-velocity content engine across unbranded culture pages on TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube — channels designed to reach new audiences organically through trending, genre-relevant content. The Content Producer owns this channel network end-to-end: creating content at volume, identifying and launching new channels where opportunity exists, and acting as a key executional partner to the digital marketing team. This is a hands-on role for someone who lives and breathes internet culture, moves fast, and can turn ideas into polished clips the same day. This position is a fixed-term contract through June 30, 2027, with the possibility of conversion to a full-time role contingent on business needs. Responsibilities Content Production Create and publish short-form video content (Reels, TikToks, Shorts) at high volume across multiple culture page accounts Edit clips, trailers, and highlight packages using tools like CapCut, Adobe Premiere, or equivalent Source and repurpose catalog audio and video assets to fit trending formats quickly Maintain a consistent posting cadence across all active channels with minimal direction Support content output across frontline releases Channel Strategy & Growth Proactively monitor TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube for emerging trends, formats, and niche communities relevant to Monstercat genres Identify and pitch new channel opportunities — propose concepts, target audiences, and content formats before being asked Launch and manage new unbranded culture pages from zero, including handle setup, visual identity, and early posting strategy Track channel performance and iterate on content direction based on retention, reach, and growth data Digital Marketing Support Respond to ad hoc content requests from the Digital Marketing Manager with quick turnaround Support release windows by creating timely, on-format content that amplifies new drops across culture channels Coordinate with the Creator Network team to share formats, assets, and posting strategies Feed performance insights back to the broader marketing team to inform campaign decisions Other duties as assigned Qualifications 2+ years creating short-form video content professionally or with a demonstrable track record of growth Proficiency with at least one editing tool — CapCut, Premiere Pro, Final Cut, or equivalent Deep familiarity with TikTok and Instagram as platforms: how the algorithms work, what drives retention, what formats are trending Ability to produce polished, publish-ready content independently — no hand-holding on execution Strong taste and an intuitive sense of what resonates in electronic music, dance, and internet culture spaces Self-starter mentality: you spot the opportunity and act on it before being asked Nice to Have Experience running unbranded or niche content pages (culture pages, fan pages, genre accounts) Familiarity with Monstercat or dance music broadly. Experience with AI-assisted content tools (e.g. auto-captioning, generative B-roll, voiceover tools) Understanding of Spotify streaming metrics and how social content drives algorithmic performance Basic knowledge of Meta Business Manager or TikTok Business Center for managing multiple accounts Pay Scale $60,000 - 70,000 (CAD) per year The final compensation within this range will be determined based on the candidate’s experience, skills, and overall fit for the role.
