Job Summary We are seeking a skilled, motivated, and organized Commercial Journeyman Electrical Technician to join our growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for leading and executing commercial electrical installations, renovations, tenant improvements, and electrical upgrade projects. The successful candidate will possess strong technical knowledge, leadership abilities, and the organizational skills required to manage project layouts, coordinate work activities, and ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. Working closely with Project Coordinators, General Contractors, apprentices, and other trades, you will play a key role in planning and organizing projects, directing field activities, assisting with material take-offs, and maintaining project schedules. This position requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to adapt to changing project requirements while maintaining a positive and professional attitude. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Journeyman Electrician looking to take on greater responsibility and contribute to the successful completion of a wide variety of commercial electrical projects. Key Responsibilities Install electrical circuits, panels, conduit, protective devices, switches, fixtures, and equipment in accordance with the Canadian Electrical Code (CEC). Install, repair, and replace electrical wiring, receptacles, switch boxes, feeders, conduits, lighting systems, and power distribution equipment. Read and interpret blueprints, electrical drawings, specifications, and code requirements. Layout circuits, install breaker panels and distribution equipment, and complete electrical installations according to project specifications. Support commercial construction projects, renovations, tenant improvements, and electrical upgrades. Responsible for project layout, planning, and organization to ensure efficient project execution. Direct, mentor, and oversee apprentices, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to company standards. Assist the Project Coordinator with material take-offs, material planning, and procurement requirements. Communicate effectively with General Contractors, site supervisors, clients, and other trades to coordinate project activities and schedules. Monitor project progress and proactively identify potential issues affecting schedules, productivity, or quality. Participate in project meetings and provide updates regarding manpower requirements, project status, and material needs. Troubleshoot and repair commercial electrical systems and equipment when required. Conduct testing and commissioning of electrical systems to verify proper operation. Ensure all electrical work complies with applicable regulations, codes, and industry best practices. Provide leadership, technical guidance, and support to apprentices and team members. Maintain accurate project documentation, reports, and job-related paperwork. Deliver professional and exceptional customer service while representing the company positively. Participate in job-site safety meetings and hazard assessments. Comply with all company policies, procedures, safety standards, and PPE requirements. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Physical Requirements Ability to lift and carry a minimum of 50 lbs. without assistance. Ability to work on ladders, lifts, and elevated work platforms. Ability to perform physically demanding work in various indoor and outdoor environments. Ability to wear and maintain all required PPE. Qualifications & Certifications Required Valid Journeyman Electrical Trade Certification. High School Diploma or equivalent. Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record. Reliable vehicle. Own hand tools. Fall Protection Certification. Aerial Lift Certification. CSTS-09 Certification. Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English. Please respond by email only.
