Job summary
Crosier Kilgour is seeking a motivated Building Science Technologist to join our growing Building Science & Building Envelope Commissioning group. You will contribute to assessments, design support, and field investigations related to the performance and durability of building envelope systems. Job Responsibilities Building Envelope Assessment & Field Investigation Assist with on-site reviews of walls, roofs, windows, curtain walls, waterproofing systems, foundations, and other envelope components. Participate in diagnostic testing for air/water leakage, moisture intrusion, thermal performance, and material deterioration. Participate in site inspections and troubleshooting of envelope-related issues. Coordinate with testing specialists and assist with interpreting investigation data. Document field work through clear notes, photographs, sketches, and test results. Engineering Analysis & Design Support the development and detailing of building envelope systems including fenestration, roofing, waterproofing, insulation, and cladding assemblies. Assist with thermal and hygrothermal modelling using industry tools and conduct preliminary thermal, moisture, and building performance analyses Prepare drawings, specifications, and technical documents under guidance from senior staff Apply relevant codes, standards, and best practices for envelope design and existing building performance. Coordination & Technical Support Collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors to integrate envelope solutions within overall building design. Assist with construction site reviews to confirm conformance with design intent, troubleshoot issues, and contractor inquiries. Contribute to technical reports summarizing findings and recommendations.
