Job summary

Position: Graphic Designer - Editorial, Poster & Marketing Layout Type: Contract Compensation: $20 - $50/hour Location: Remote Commitment: 10-40 hrs/week Role Responsibilities Annotate editorial, poster, and marketing design assets and short video clips using precise visual and design vocabulary. Deconstruct completed designs into compositional layers, populating structured metadata reflecting hierarchy, geometry, style, and typographic systems. Apply cinematography and composition standards to video clips, describing framing, movement, and visual flow. Create exemplar annotations that serve as quality benchmarks for the project's evolving dataset. Identify and document ambiguous cases, missing categories, or annotation schema edge cases for ongoing guideline improvement. Use Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, and similar tools to evaluate, process, and structure layered design files. Requirements Have strong relevant experience as a graphic designer, visual/brand designer, layout or print specialist, editorial designer, or art director. Portfolio demonstrating advanced use of typography, color, layout, and visual hierarchy in editorial and marketing contexts. Expert-level proficiency with Figma, Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, After Effects), Canva, or equivalent design platforms. Ability to articulate and document design concepts with precision, using established design and composition terminology. Bachelor s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Fine Arts, or equivalent professional portfolio demonstrating relevant expertise. Strong written English proficiency for meticulous annotation and structured content documentation.
