Job summary

Duration: Project-Based Hours: Estimated 25–40 hours Overview A remote project-based freelance opportunity is available to provide real-time captioning for live virtual events and Section 508 accessibility review of participant videos. This independent contractor engagement supports a client project requiring expertise in both live CART captioning and digital accessibility compliance. Key Responsibilities Provide accurate real-time (CART) captioning for participant webinars, Q&A sessions, and other live virtual events Accurately caption health, medical, research, and other subject-specific terminology Review a set of short participant videos for Section 508 / WCAG 2.1 AA compliance Identify and document accessibility deficiencies, including captioning and other applicable video accessibility requirements Provide clear remediation instructions to relay to participants, and re-check corrected videos for compliance Review participant-facing webinar and accessibility materials as needed to help ensure Section 508 compliance Coordinate with the team before webinars and throughout the participant remediation process Required Qualifications Professional experience with Section 508 and WCAG 2.1 AA digital/video accessibility compliance Experience providing live CART or real-time captioning for webinars or virtual events, meeting professional accuracy and timing standards Experience reviewing video captions and other multimedia accessibility requirements Ability to accurately caption scientific, medical, and research terminology Strong attention to detail and ability to clearly document compliance issues Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting federal government, healthcare, disability, or research programs Familiarity with accessible multimedia and Section 508 testing/documentation practices Work Location & Requirements 100% remote work Freelance / project-based (1099 independent contractor) Primarily live participant webinars plus Section 508 review of selected participant videos, including follow-up review after participant corrections
