What You'll Be Doing As a Crew Lead, you'll be the person helping keep a small crew of 2–3 people organized, productive, and moving in the right direction. You'll spend plenty of time working alongside your crew, but you'll also be responsible for making sure the job gets done right. Lead a small commercial landscape maintenance crew of 2–3 people. Plan the crew's daily work and make sure properties are maintained safely, efficiently, and to CSL standards. Get your crew where they need to be with the right equipment, materials, and information for the day. Oversee regular commercial landscape maintenance including mowing, trimming, blowing, pruning, weeding, garden maintenance, cleanups, and seasonal services. Keep an eye on the details. If something doesn't look right, needs attention, or could become a bigger problem, speak up and let the Operations Manager know. Work alongside your crew and lead by example. We don't expect our Crew Leads to stand around giving orders. Communicate with the Operations Manager about daily progress, property concerns, client requests, equipment issues, and anything else that may affect the day. Help train and support crew members and make sure everyone understands what is expected. Keep trucks, trailers, equipment, and tools clean, organized, and in good working order. Complete daily equipment inspections and report any damage, defects, or accidents. Follow CSL's safety policies and help create a safe and positive work environment. Keep properties looking their best and take pride in the work your crew puts out. Complete required time tracking, inspections, and daily paperwork. When winter arrives, switch gears and help with snow operations. This may include snow removal, salting, shovelling, operating equipment, and leading your crew through winter conditions. Be ready to work outdoors in all kinds of weather. Yes, that includes the Canadian variety. What We're Looking For 1–3 years of experience in commercial landscaping, landscape maintenance, or property maintenance. At least 1 year of experience leading a small crew. A valid G driver's licence and the ability to drive a truck and trailer. Good knowledge of landscape maintenance practices and equipment. Someone who can organize a day, keep a crew moving, and adjust when things don't go according to plan. Strong communication and problem-solving skills. Someone who takes initiative and isn't afraid to make a decision when one needs to be made. Someone who can recognize when an issue needs to be handled and when it's time to call the Operations Manager. A willingness to learn CSL's systems, standards, and way of doing things. A positive attitude and the ability to work well with a team. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., bend, dig, climb, and perform physical work throughout the day. Comfortable working outdoors in all seasons. Requirements
