Job Summary: Completes troubleshooting, repairs and rebuilds on engine products in a service workshop independently while coaching and developing less experienced technicians Cummins is looking for a talented In-Shop 310T Diesel Technician / Truck & Coach Mechanic to join our team in Ottawa. Perform preventative maintenance based on assessment of engine. Complete required documentation, such as work completed documents, time sheets, warranty claims and quality forms, via handwritten or business system input screens. Complete training in line with skill and business requirements. Maintain work area and tools for cleanliness and proper operation. Adhere to and ensures adherence of more junior technicians to all relevant Health, Safety & Environmental policies, procedures and legislation and reports any issues / incidents to their supervisor. Diploma, Certification, license: Red seal 310T certification is required for this role. Locally valid driving permit Clean driver’s abstract This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations. Experience: Good customer relation skills. Diagnostic, electrical, chassis, and heavy‑duty engine experience is an asset. Ability to read technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and schematics. Familiarity with OEM diagnostic software (e.g., INSITE). Flexibility to attend service calls or support other locations as needed. Advanced level knowledge of and/or experience with engine products. About the role: Engine repairs, diagnostics, aftertreatment work, chassis work. Benefits start day 1! Cummins values a safety environment. Regular working hours are from 7am to 330pm-flexibility to work extra hours is required. Qualifications -This role requires a 5 year motor vehicle report, free from major violations and must meet the conditions of the company policy. Education, Licenses, Certifications: Apprentice Trained Engine Technician (Preferred) Vocational diploma from relevant technical institution Locally valid driving permit (Preferred) This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations. Experience: Advanced level knowledge of and/or experience with engine products Experience providing technical advice and coaching to more junior technicians (preferred) Base salary rate commensurate with experience.
