Manual Machinist As a Manual Machinist, you will be responsible for the set-up and operation of manual lathes, milling machines, drill presses, air-hydraulic presses, grinders, saws and other machines to construct or repair metal parts, tools and machines. Your Challenge: * Manufacture and inspects detailed parts and tools from blueprints, sketches, drawings and verbal instructions using a variety of machining tools and equipment (mills, lathes, drill presses, grinders, jig bores and other machining equipment) and using mathematical and geometrical calculations. * Utilizes knowledge of working properties of aluminum and alloy steels. * Works to required tolerances and is responsible for quality of work produced. Maintain acceptable quality and efficiency level. * Responsible to notify supervisor of tooling requirements. * Follows preventative maintenance procedures. * May be required to as sit in machine repair. * Keeps machine and work area clean and orderly. * Remains aware and follows all health and safety practices. Works in a safe fashion and reports any concerns to supervisor.
