If you’re excited to be part of a team that’s leading the way in AI-powered collaboration, we’d love to meet you. The Scrum Master 2 (SM2) in Cvent's Shared Services Program is not a traditional Scrum Master role. This position operates at the intersection of agile delivery, AI-augmented tooling, cross-functional coordination, and project management — inside a program actively transitioning from a traditional Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) to an AI-Augmented Development Lifecycle (ADLC). Sprint teams in Shared Services are using AI to generate prototypes, user stories, acceptance criteria, architectural diagrams, and working code in hours rather than days, which changes the SM2's operating environment in concrete ways: the bottleneck shifts from execution to review, alignment, and decision-making, and the SM2's job is to clear those bottlenecks. AI is not a feature of this role — it is a foundational expectation. The SM2 is expected to use approved AI tools daily across ceremonies, reporting, dependency management, and stakeholder communication. Equally important, the SM2 must help translate AI-driven velocity gains into reliable delivery outcomes. In addition to agile facilitation, the SM2 manages discrete projects — coordinating cross-functional stakeholders, tracking milestones, managing risks, and driving delivery through standard project lifecycle phases where sprint-based approaches are not the right fit. The right candidate is equal parts trusted facilitator, delivery strategist, AI-enabled operator, and project coordinator. The SM2 is accountable for the following across their assigned sprint teams and any projects under their coordination: Facilitate all sprint ceremonies (planning, standup, review, retrospective) and SDLC phase checkpoints with efficiency and clear outcomes — using approved AI tools to assist with summarization, action item capture, and discussion preparation as a standard practice, not an exception. Own cross-team dependency tracking for assigned teams — maintain a live dependency map, surface risks at least one sprint before projected impact with a recommended mitigation, and incorporate AI-assisted dependency risk summaries into release facilitation discussions and stakeholder updates. Facilitate release readiness conversations between Product, Engineering, UX, and QualityQA, and UX ahead of each milestone — organizing delivery data, dependency status, quality signals, and risk into a clear picture that enables Product to make confident, informed release decisions. Manage discrete projects assigned through the program — define scope, track milestones, manage risks, coordinate cross-functional stakeholders, and report status through standard project lifecycle phases; apply AI tooling to accelerate project documentation, reporting, and risk identification. Define and manage project scope andOwn charters — establish clear success criteria and ownership before work begins; maintain milestone data current and flag risks before they become misses; facilitate project close-out and ensure operational handoffs are completed cleanly. Maintain Jira data accuracy across Epics, initiatives, and sprint work for assigned teams — owner, status, dates, and priority current within one sprint — recognizing that this data is the foundation for AI-assisted dashboards, reporting, and risk analysis across the program. Achieve and maintain ≥80% quarterly forecast accuracy for assigned teams; drive priority sequencing so that when trade-offs occur, the highest-priority items complete first; use delivery metrics (cycle time, throughput, dependency wait time, carryover) to identify and address drag factors. Monitor SLA compliance for Prod Bug, Accessibility, and Security issues across assigned teams (≥80% target); surface SLA risks proactively during release facilitation discussions; develop and track improvement plans when targets are missed. Send timely, data-informed stakeholder communications — end-of-sprint updates within 2 business days of sprint close, with pre-milestone communications that always include a release risk and dependency section; leverage AI tools to draft, refine, and improve communication quality. Understand how assigned teams are using AI in their development work — which tools, for which tasks, and what impact it is having — and actively support team AI adoption by removing barriers, sharing effective use cases, and integrating AI-enabled workflows into ceremonies and reporting. Coach Product Owners on backlog refinement, value slicing, and acceptance criteria; partner with Dev leads and managers to flag team health or performance concerns early; align sprint goals and project milestones to quarterly scorecard objectives and OKRs. 3-5+ years of experience as a Scrum Master or equivalent agile delivery role, supporting software engineering teams in a professional environment. Experience working across multiple sprint teams simultaneously — candidates whose entire SM experience is on a single team will face a meaningful scope adjustment. Demonstrated experience managing or co-managing projects with cross-functional stakeholders, milestone-based tracking, and formal status reporting — not just sprint-level facilitation. Advanced Jira experience: custom fields, Epic management, JQL queries, dashboard configuration, and data quality management at scale. Active, practical experience using AI tools (generative AI assistants, AI summarization, AI-assisted drafting, or similar) in professional work — candidates should be able to describe specific examples, not generalities. Experience facilitating cross-functional release readiness conversations involving Product, Engineering, QA, and UX stakeholders. Experience managing cross-team dependencies — tracking, documenting, and surfacing risks proactively with recommended mitigations. Solid command of Scrum and agile ceremonies — able to make them efficient, outcome-oriented, and AI-assisted, not just compliant. Data literacy: able to read and apply delivery metrics (cycle time, throughput, forecast accuracy, dependency wait time) and translate them into actionable stakeholder-ready insights. Strong written communication: able to produce concise, decision-ready stakeholder updates — including AI-assisted drafts — that do not require follow-up clarification. Risk awareness: able to recognize early warning signals in delivery data, team dynamics, or project status and escalate with a recommended path forward, not just a problem statement. MS/BS degree in Computer Science, Information Science, or equivalent. Preferred, But Not Required ScrumMaster Certification (CSM) Project Management Professional Certification (PMP) This job posting is intended to comply with all applicable laws.
