Are you meticulous, curious, and passionate about heavy machinery? At Davie, you will participate in assembling strategic components that power the country’s largest ships. Reporting to the Foreman, you will be responsible for installing, assembling, adjusting, and fastening mechanical components related to piping, ventilation, heating, air conditioning (HVAC), marine mechanics, and metal cabinetry systems. You will read plans and work orders, handle workshop assembly, perform pressure tests, adjust mechanical equipment, operate forklifts or trucks, and actively participate in the commissioning of systems aboard ships. Compensation $34.64/hour for the first 1,000 hours, then a rate of $38.49/hour. Overtime paid at double time. Work Schedule Day: 4-day workweek, 10 hours per day Evening: 4-day workweek, 10 hours per day + $2.00/hour premium Weekend: 3-day workweek, 12 hours per day + $2.50/hour premium Frigate premium (military vessel): $1.25/hour regardless of shift. You must be available for all shifts. While we consider your schedule preferences (day, evening, weekend) when creating schedules, they cannot be guaranteed.
