Position Details: Job Title: Mandarin QA Analyst Work Model: Hybrid (2 days per week in office) Location: Downtown Toronto Employment Type: 6-month contract with a strong possibility of extension. We are highly flexible; you can also join as a full-time, Permanent employee of Dawn Infotek with the Canadian Bank as your end client. Key Responsibilities Lead the QA and testing strategy for the English-to-Mandarin UI conversion of existing online banking applications. Review existing English UI content, business rules, screen flows, labels, messages, and terminology to establish testing baselines. Perform comprehensive GUI validation, localization testing, and linguistic QA to ensure the Mandarin translation is accurate, contextually correct, and natural. Execute thorough regression testing to verify that the UI conversion introduces no functional changes or defects to the existing applications. Identify, log, track, and manage UI/UX bugs, translation defects, and layout issues, collaborating closely with development and business teams for resolution. Conduct accessibility (AODA/WCAG) testing on the Mandarin UI, verifying text presentation, screen reader compatibility, readability, navigation, and user interaction. Collaborate closely with Business Owners, Business Analysts, UX designers, and development teams throughout the testing lifecycle to secure quality sign-offs. Document test plans, test cases, test execution results, and defect reports with high precision. Participate actively in Agile delivery activities, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives. Required Qualifications 5+ years of experience as a QA Analyst / Quality Assurance Engineer in enterprise technology environments. 4+ years of experience performing localized, internationalized, or multilingual software application testing. Strong experience in GUI validation, functional regression testing, visual QA, and defect lifecycle management. Expertise in creating comprehensive test documentation, including test plans, test cases, and defect logs using tools like Jira or Azure DevOps. Deep understanding of localization challenges, such as text truncation, font rendering issues, text direction, and character encoding bugs. Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills, with a proven track record of working with cross-functional technical and business teams. Strong attention to detail with a focus on delivering high-quality, pixel-perfect user interfaces. Experience working in an Agile delivery environment. Preferred / Nice-to-Have Qualifications Professional proficiency in Mandarin and English, with exceptional written Mandarin skills to validate UI copy and linguistic accuracy. Experience testing online banking or digital banking applications. Experience with digital accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1/2.2, AODA) and using assistive technologies like screen readers (JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver). Experience in banking, financial services, or other highly regulated environments.
