Sr. Software Developer (Java Backend) - 1 Year Contract

Position Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Software Developer with strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, and Distributed Systems. The ideal candidate will play a key role in designing, developing, deploying, and supporting scalable backend applications and APIs within a cloud-native environment. This role requires hands-on experience with modern software development practices, production troubleshooting, and collaboration across cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions. Key Responsibilities * Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain enterprise-grade backend applications using Java and Spring Boot. * Build and support scalable microservices and RESTful APIs in a distributed systems architecture. * Design and implement service-to-service communication patterns, error handling mechanisms, and resilient application architectures. * Develop, integrate, and troubleshoot REST APIs for internal and external system integrations. * Work with Kafka-based event-driven architectures, including publishing and consuming events, monitoring message processing, and troubleshooting integration issues. * Design and optimize Cassandra data models, queries, and database structures to ensure high performance and scalability. * Deploy, configure, and support applications running in Kubernetes environments using Helm charts and deployment configurations. * Monitor application health, analyze logs, and troubleshoot production and non-production issues across multiple services and environments. * Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to improve system reliability and performance. * Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to established coding standards, design principles, and development best practices. * Collaborate with product owners, architects, and development teams to deliver high-quality software solutions. * Manage application configurations and environment-specific deployments across development, testing, and production environments. * Support continuous improvement initiatives related to performance, scalability, reliability, and maintainability. Required Qualifications * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience. * 5+ years of hands-on software development experience using Java. * Strong expertise in: * Java (Object-Oriented Programming, Collections Framework, Streams, Exception Handling) * Spring Boot * Microservices Architecture * RESTful API Design and Development * Distributed Systems * Git-Based Source Control * Experience with Cassandra, including: * Data Modeling * Partition Keys and Clustering Columns * Query Optimization * TTL Management * Distributed Database Concepts * Experience working with Kubernetes, including: * Deployments * Services * Pods * Configuration Management * Helm Charts * Strong understanding of software design patterns and development best practices. * Experience troubleshooting complex application and integration issues in multi-service environments. * Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Preferred Qualifications * Experience with Apache Kafka and event-driven architectures. * Experience with Dynatrace or similar application performance monitoring and troubleshooting tools. * Experience supporting cloud-native and containerized applications. * Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices. * Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.
